Artie Shaw

GJ7714
Despite the fact that Artie Shaw was hugely popular and sold over 100 million albums he always prized innovation, technique and experimentation more highly than critical acclaim. He certainly was an innovator; fusing different musical styles together including Classical, Jazz, Bebop, Afro-Cuban and even introduced elements of medieval music into some of his recordings. As a clarinetist he had no equal, as a band leader he was a perfectionist and as an innovator he was decades ahead of his time.

BB King

GJ7713

The greatest guitarist who ever lived is a subjective topic and will always be fiercely debated but BB King's name would have to be included in any discussion. The archetypal Blues man, his style has influenced many of the great guitarists of recent generations, most notably Jimi Hendrix, George Harrison and Eric Clapton. Riley Ben King has been performing for 6 decades and at the age of 86 he has now performed over 15,000 gigs and with many of the all-time music greats, his popularity shows no signs of waning. Hopefully BB and his guitar "Lucille" have many more performances ahead.

Beach Boys

Taking you back to the early 1960's and the birth of one of the greatest and most influential bands of all time. This compilation features their seminal album entitled Surfin' Safari which is represented by the first 14 tracks on this collection. The remaining tracks are an eclectic mix of Brian Wilson penned songs which he wrote and performed on with Bob & Sheri and Rachel & The Revolvers; these projects occupied his time while he waited for the slow-moving recording studios to record/produce Beach Boys songs.
